Blogging can be intimidating, but time and again, studies show that it's one of the best ways to continuously add valuable content to your website! And as we know, content is king when it comes to SEO.
Your blogs don't have to be long, but they do need to follow one simple rule: stay on message. It's easy to try to pack all of the information you can into a post, but this can alienate readers and keep them from reading. It might even cause them to abandon your site.
So the cardinal rule of blogging is simple! Pick a topic, and stay on it. One of the best ways to make sure you stay on track is by monitoring your use of keywords--another way to increase your SEO value. Keywords show search engines that not only is your blog new, it's relevant to those search terms, leading more viewers to your blog, and ultimately to your site.
That's all well and good if you know how to find keywords. If you don't, give Google's Keyword Tool a try. Google suggests a list of related terms for your topic, along with an idea of how often those terms are searched every month. You can sign in to see even more keywords.
Remember not to keyword stuff. If you have a 500-word article, you don't want to mention your keyword more than about 10 times. Otherwise, search engines might see your blog as spam.
