During Katrina, many public services were destroyed or out of commission. During that time, many people’s websites were down – due to the fact that their sites were hosted on servers based in the city of New Orleans. However, Compucast wasn’t down – due to a disaster preparedness plan and quick action.
As a result of the experiences during that time, Judy Weitz (Compucast CEO) will be teaching others what they can do to be more prepared during a catastrophe – to ensure their businesses stay running smoothly! Judy will offer her first-hand expertise (read more…)

On Sunday, October 19th, 2008, members of the Compucast crew set out to St. Francisville for a sold out Angola Rodeo show.
At the rodeo, we perused the various arts and crafts for sale, sampled some of the tasty fair food, and of course, enjoyed ourselves while watching bull riding, horse riding, comedic acts, and who can forget – monkeys riding on the backs of dogs!
Filling up an entire row, we had great seats, directly across from all of the action. With our significant others, friends and children along for the ride, the Compucast team enjoyed yet another “bonding” experience.
And, due to some outlandish traffic, it took us all nearly SEVEN HOURS to get back to the Crescent City!
One things for sure: When Compucast goes out, there’s always a story.

Compucast had the pleasure this week of having a private martini party at Sweet Fire & Ice.
If you’ve never visited the ice bar at this establishment, we suggest you check it out. While there, make sure to grab a comfy seat by the fire pit – which on Tuesday was taken over by our team.
The Compucast crew and their significant others bonded over an array of unique martini blends and mixed drinks, while sampling the chicken, spinach dip, and lots of other food that was passed around.
At Compucast, we feel that it is important to incorporate team building events whenever possible, and what better way to do so than by frequenting one of our newest client’s establishments!
Stay tuned for more updates on the ins and outs here at the company…. we assure you, it’s always something!

The owner of Compucast, Judy Weitz, had the privilege to personally meet with Michael Chertoff, the Secretary of Homeland Security … at his request … during his visit to New Orleans prior to the 2nd anniversary of Katrina! Secretary Chertoff heard about Judy’s efforts helping businesses and individuals during and after the devastation of Katrina, and wanted to meet with her during Hurricane Preparedness Month. He greeted Judy with “So you’re the poster child for business preparedness!”

The Executive Director of the N.O. Bar Association, Helena Henderson, (to his left), accompanied Judy to the meeting to tell how Compucast was able to keep the Louisiana court system running when all other sites and the Supreme Court of LA ’s web site went down. (Bobbi Mannino is to Judy’s right — Compucast’s Director of Public Relations.) Additionally, Compucast was featured in his opinion editorial picked up by McClatchy Newspapers.
